Benefit checks
Make sure you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to. There are three reliable online ‘calculators’ – follow the link from the Government website

Grants

Household Support Fund: Supermarket vouchers available for pensioners via an online claim form.
Government Support

Local Authority administered help: £150 energy bills rebate (‘Council Tax rebate’) – now closed but “if you were identified as eligible for the scheme but failed to apply we will look to credit your Council Tax account before the end of September so that you don't miss out on the rebate”.
