Menopause and More: Menopause and Gender
The fifth Menopause and More session will focus on Menopause and Gender Identity. Delivered by Dr Christine Mimnagh, an NHS General Practitioner, this session will discuss menopause as experienced by transgender individuals and how best to support friends and colleagues in the workplace.
Menopause and More is a multipart interactive series focusing on specific menopause themes. From symptoms, challenges and treatments to risks and common side effects, this series will cover everything and more on managing the menopause from a clinical and social perspective. Each session will have a clinician in the room to provide answers to all your questions.
This session will explore the menopause as it affects individuals of a variety of genders.
With a portfolio career, Christine jokes, “my career is more of a posh handbag than a portfolio” having worked in board-level leadership roles in both primary and secondary care, her current role is a GP in Kirkby, Clinical Champion for Gender Identity at GP@Hand (the largest single UK practice) and is now the clinical lead for the CMAGIC pilot, one of three NHS England pilots for new models of gender identity healthcare. Christine is currently undertaking the RCP accreditation in Gender Identity Healthcare.
